How long links last
| Link | Lasts | Uses |
|---|---|---|
| Accept and Decline links in an appointment or reminder | 72 hours | Once each |
| Login link from Send login link | 1 hour | Once |
Each link works once. Opening it signs you in on that phone or computer and opens the page, even if you then close it without replying. After that the same link won't open again.
The email and the text each have their own link, so opening one doesn't stop the other working.
You don't need the link to reply. Go to app.ascotunitedfc.co.uk/RefereePortal. If you opened a link on that device in the last 14 days you're still signed in. If not, sign in with your password or a login link. Every match waiting for your answer is on your dashboard.
When a link won't open

"This link has expired or has already been used. Please log in." means the link is more than 72 hours old (1 hour for a login link) or has already been opened. Sign in, then reply from your dashboard. See Signing in to the referee portal. If you're already signed in on that phone or computer, you go straight to your dashboard instead, with "That link has expired or has already been used — but you're signed in, so you can reply from your dashboard below."
If you've already replied, the link takes you to your dashboard with a message like this:

It says Confirmed, Declined or Cancelled (the club has stood you down).
Reminders
If you haven't accepted or declined, the club sends the appointment again once a day while kick-off is more than 48 hours away.
- Reminders come the same way as the appointment: email, text or both.
- The email subject starts Reminder: please confirm your referee assignment. The text starts "Reminder from AUFC".
- Each reminder has new Accept and Decline links, valid for another 72 hours. Earlier links still work until they expire, if you haven't opened them.
- The club's referee secretary can also send you a reminder at any time.
Reminders stop as soon as you accept or decline, or the club cancels your appointment.
If you still haven't replied
Once kick-off is less than 48 hours away, reminders stop and the club's referee secretary is told you haven't replied. They may call you, or give the match to another referee.
For example, if you're appointed on Monday morning for a Sunday morning kick-off, you'll get reminders on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday the club is told.
If you're appointed less than two days before kick-off, there are no automatic reminders, so reply as soon as you can.
Not getting the emails or texts? Check your junk folder, and check the email and mobile number in My details. See I didn't get the email or text.
